The Antigua and Barbuda Amateur Volleyball Association enters a pivotal week nine with several crucial matchups that could significantly reshape the standings as teams battle for playoff positions across all divisions.
In Men’s Division One, Pytonz remain the only undefeated team with a perfect 6-0 record and 28 points, maintaining a narrow lead over defending Champions Stoneville (6-1) who sit in second place with 26 points. Storming Lions (4-3) hold third position with 21 points, followed by High Flyerz (4-3) with 18 points.
The Women’s Division One competition features an equally impressive performance from CAI Da Squad, who have established dominance with a flawless 6-0 record and 29 points. They’re well ahead of second-place Starz 1 (Seniors) at 4-2 with 18 points, while Stoneville W (3-3) rounds out the top three with 15 points.
In Women’s Division 2, Chargers Eagles and Starz 2 Juniors are tied at the top with 10 points each, though the Chargers Eagles maintain first place with their perfect 4-0 record compared to Starz’s 3-2 mark.
On Thursday, May 8th, Starz will hope to dazzle the Royal Cruisers in the Women’s Division One at 6:45 PM while 2024 titleholders, Stoneville will face Renegades at 7:45 PM.
Then on Saturday, May 10th, Stoneville will battle the Jets the Women’s Division at 6:45 pm while Phoenix Flyerz will take on the Pytonz who will look to stay undefeated in the season in the Men’s Division One at 7:45 PM
The league has announced that all games scheduled for Sunday, May 11th have been postponed in observance of Mother’s Day.
