MAX AARONS’ last gasp strike secured under-fire Russell Martin a first league win as Rangers head coach.
And it also helped net one lucky punter a remarkable sum of money.
Aarons struck in the 94th minute at Almondvale as Rangers edged past Livingston.
The unlikely hero stepped up to rescue his team who were staring down the barrel of a sixth consecutive league match without a win.
Crucially, it also secured a first Scottish Premiership win in charge for Ibrox boss Martin who remains under intense pressure from fans.
Aarons’ strike – his first goal in more than three years – also helped scoop one lucky punter a staggering sum of just under £39,000 with William Hill.

The Livi vs Rangers clash was one of eight games in a monster accumulator.
The punter stuck £30 down on the acca, which featured eight games all on a both score no draw basis.
For it to come good, they needed all 16 teams to score goal and for none of the eight matches to end in a draw.
Aston Villa‘s 3-1 win over Fulham got things off to a good start but before the lucky punter could get too excited, things looked like they wouldn’t be going to plan in West Lothian.
In Turkey too, the Rizespor vs Kasimpasa selection also looked destined for a 1-1 draw.
That was until both Aarons and Kasimpasa struck added time winners to keep the bet alive.
A few other fixtures in the acca went to plan before Stuttgart netted an 81st minute winner to see-off Cologne.
In the end, it all rested on AC Milan’s clash with Napoli which finished in a 2-1 victory for the Rossoneri.
The final whistle at the San Siro saw the punter land the quite remarkable bet, turning £30 into £38,754.18.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “On a typically busy Sunday slate of football, one customer has managed to well and truly pull a rabbit out of the hat to win over £38,000 from eight winning selections in a £30 accumulator.
“With dramatic late winners for Rangers and Kasimpasa to land the 1,291/1 acca, it’s a truly inspired punt, and not the kind of thing you’d see every day, so hats off!”
