RANGERS sporting director Kevin Thelwell has criticised the SFA and called for more talks after Auston Trusty escaped a red card in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final.
The controversial flashpoint was brought into the limelight again after refs chief Willie Collum backed on-field whistler Nick Walsh over the incident in the latest Sky Sports VAR Review show.

Collum insists Nick Walsh followed the rules when he only booked the Celtic defender for kicking Jack Butland in the head.
He admits, though, the American would have been shown a red card under previous guidelines.
Furious Rangers chiefs met with Collum to discuss the incident in the aftermath of the extra-time defeat earlier this month.
They were unsatisfied with the explanation and slammed Hampden chiefs in a statement.

Now Thelwell has demanded fresh talks with with the SFA after Collum’s explanation on TV.
He has called for more consistency in refereeing at the top level of Scottish football and has branded the incident a “clear red card”.
He said: “It’s well known that we were disappointed with some of the consistency of the refereeing on that day.
“We’ve had some strong conversations with the SFA about some of those inconsistencies and some of those decisions.
“We still fundamentally disagree with some of the points that were made, in particular the Auston Trusty incident.
“It’s clear from our side that is a red card. We all feel like it’s a dangerous precedent to be saying that striking somebody on the head is nothing short of a red card.
“We want to have another conversation with the SFA. We want a greater quality and a greater standard of refereeing.”
