RANGERS are reportedly closing in on a deal for a Canadian international as Russell Martin bids to improve his backline.
The Rangers boss wants to sign another defender after his side shipped NINE goals in two legs against Club Brugge.
Left-back is an area for concern for the manager as Jayden Meghoma is currently his only reliable option, with Max Aarons failing to deliver when operating on either side.
But according to reports, Martin is set to sign a player who will provide more cover and potentially take the starting spot on the left – or even in the centre.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims Rangers are set to land Derek Cornelius from Marseille after making a late move for the defender before the end of the window.
