THE RELEASE of a club’s new top never seems to please everyone.
And never has that been more evident than with the launch of the latest Rangers shirt.
The Ibrox club have teased the unveiling of their third kit for season 2025/26, with some radical changes incorporated into it.
New manufacturers Umbro have already rolled out home and away strips for Gers – with mixed opinions on both.
Both of those jerseys were leaked online before they were officially revealed by the club.
But in the case of the third kit, everything has been kept under wraps until now.

Rangers posted an image of the shirt on their social media platforms tonight along with the caption: “A time of new beginnings.”
They also confirmed the strip will go on sale at 8am on Friday.
How the rest of the kit will look remains to be seen, with no snaps of the shorts or the socks released as yet.
The top itself is a mixture of grey and black, two colours Rangers haven’t often used for their jerseys.
The third kit from 2007/08 has some similarities, with black and blue/grey stripes.
This version is split diagonally across the front, with the top half in grey and the bottom in black.
The collar and the sleeves feature black and blue trim, but perhaps the most notable difference to most shirts is the badge.
The use of the RFC scroll crest on a shield was a feature of last year’s away top and that has been replicated here.
But this time the badge is BLACK, as opposed to the usual royal blue.
Supporters are divided with mixture of high praise and stinging criticism.
One fan said: “That’s beautiful.”
Other punters have noted how the top defies expectations – and most in a positive way.
“I really like it. It’s different,” said one fan.
“Not what I was expecting but I like it,” said another.
Before another fan summed up the feelings of many by saying: “Take my money!”
Umbro took over as the kit partner from Castore this season, having previously sponsored the Ibrox outfit from 2005 to 2013.
Castore kits were largely met with negative reaction but it seems Umbro have started the ball rolling well here.
“Beauty. Umbro with another belter,” said one supporter.
While another fan said: “Umbro have actually gone three for three this year.”
And this elated supporter commented: “Might be one of my favourite ever kits, absolute peach.”
Commenting on the badge change specifically, one supporter replied: “Love the badge.”
On the flip side, there were plenty of punters left unimpressed by the top.
“Awful. I’d rather buy the black away GK shirt. That’s MUCH better than this.”

One went even further, saying: “Genuinely one of the worst shirts we’ve had.”
Others described it as “boring” and even “brutal”.
