HIS excellent turn of pace meant he was no stranger to being able to dance around opposition defenders.
But now, one former Rangers star is about to turn his talents to ACTUAL dancing.
Ex-footie aces are no strangers to the world’s biggest reality TV series.
Many big names have swapped their football kits for sequins to take part in BBC favourite Strictly Come Dancing over the years.
Chelsea hero Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will grace the Saturday night smash-hit this coming series.
The Dutchman follows in the footsteps of the likes of Tony Adams, Paul Merson and David James in taking part in the programme.

Now, former Rangers striker Peter Lovenkrands is having a go himself.
Light Blues fans might be disappointed to hear that he’s not taking part in the UK version, however.
Instead, he’s one of the stars who’s been confirmed as part of the line-up for Vild med dans – that’s the DANISH version of Strictly, otherwise known as Dancing With The Stars in the USA and around the rest of the world.
Translating to ‘Crazy about Dancing,’ a number of famous footie faces from Denmark have taken part over the years.
Controversial referee Kim Milton Nielsen – famed for red-carding David Beckham at the 1998 World Cup – is an alumnus of the show, as well as former Tottenham ace Allan Nielsen and ex-Rangers star Brian Laudrup’s nephew Mads.
Former Hobro, Randers and Brondby midfielder Kasper Fisker WON the show in 2023.
Now, former Gers ace Lovenkrands, 45, has confirmed he’ll be putting on his dancing shoes in the upcoming series.
The former Denmark international spent six years with the Light Blues between 2000 and 2006, winning two SPL titles, two Scottish Cups and three League Cups.
Lovenkrands scored a memorable last-gasp winner in the 2002 Scottish Cup Final against Celtic and was also instrumental as Rangers made history by making it to the Champions League knockout stages in 2005.
After leaving Ibrox, Lovenkrands played for Schalke, Newcastle and Birmingham before retiring in 2014.
He returned to Rangers as an academy coach in 2017 and became the B team boss the following year, departing the club for a second time in 2020.
Lovenkrands has continued to be a regular on TV screens as a pundit in Scottish matches.
But dancing is about to take over his life for the next little while.
Taking to Instagram, Lovenkrands shared a picture of himself alongside professional partner Jenna Bagge, who’ll be guiding him through the competition.
Lovenkrands posted: “A whole new world.
“Looking forward to participating in @vildmeddans”
Snaps shared by dancer Jenna showed Lovenkrands already in training.
Alongside a behind the scenes image, she said: “Here he is!
“I’m going to dance with @plovenkrands11 this year @vildmeddans”
