RANGERS are exploring a potential loan deal for a Premier League goalkeeper this summer, it’s being claimed.
Russell Martin has already added five of his own signings to the Rangers squad since taking over as boss, with Lyall Cameron snapped up before the gaffer arrived in Glasgow.
He’s snapped up players across the pitch as Emmanuel Fernandez, Nasser Djiga and Max Aarons will all provide defensive reinforcements, while Thelo Aasgaard and Joe Rothwell will beef up his options in midfield.
But now the former Southampton and Swansea boss is looking at signing a goalkeeper too.
According to talkSPORT, Rangers are interested in signing Brighton goalie Carl Rushworth on a season-long loan.
It’s said the Premier League outfit have already knocked back an approach for the 24-year-old from a Championship side.

But Rangers are reportedly ready to test the Seagull’s resolve themselves with an offer which could see him become their new No1.
Should he arrive in Govan then he could dispatch Jack Butland as the new first choice after a frustrating season between the sticks for the Englishman in Glasgow.
Butland still has two years left on his current deal at Ibrox.
Rangers currently have four goalkeepers in the first team as things stand as Liam Kelly, Mason Munn and Kieran Wright are all contracted with the club.
Rushworth is known for his shot-stopping ability and distribution skills which could give him the edge over other stoppers given Martin’s desire to play out from the back.
He hasn’t made a first team appearance for Brighton since breaking through the youth academy in 2019.
He’s spent time out on loan at Worthing, Walsall, Lincoln City, Swansea and Hull.
He only made two appearances for Hull last season but he was first choice at all the other clubs he was shipped out on loan to.
Rushworth has earned one England Under-21 cap and was part of the squad which won the Uefa European U21 Championships in 2023.
Bournemouth loanee Aarons was also involved.
