RANGERS have reportedly turned down a bid deemed “insufficient” for star striker Hamza Igamane.
The 22-year-old has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Ibrox this summer – with French club Lille in the driving seat for his signature.
Talk seemed to cool after the Gers set an asking price of around £15 million.
Light Blues boss Russell Martin has also stated previously they haven’t received any bids for the talented Moroccan.
According to Sacha Tavolieri on X that has changed on the eve of Rangers’ crucial Champions League qualifier against Club Brugge.
He now claims Rangers and Lille have spoken directly, with the Ligue 1 side “submitting a verbal offer”.
Tavolieri says the bid remains undisclosed but was deemed “insufficient” by the Ibrox hierarchy.
However. talks are apparently continuing and Tavolieri says Igamane has “given his green light to Lille”.
The Rangers Review also claim Lille wanted to “loan the player” and “no fee would have been payable as part of the proposal”
They say that the club “laughed off” the bid.
Igamane netted 16 goals for the Light Blues last season after his £1.7million switch from FAR Rabat.
One of the highlights of the campaign was his stunning goal against Celtic at Parkhead.
He also struck twice in Rangers’ 4-1 thumping of Nice in the Europa League.
A number of clubs have been credited with an interest in the forward including Rennes, Everton and Marseille.
But Lille have always seemingly been the front runners.
Injury has so far disrupted Igamane’s progress this season having been involved in just 37 minutes of action so far.
He did come off the bench against Alloa on Saturday in their 4-2 win in the Premier Sports Cup.
Meanwhile, Russell Martin’s confirmed attacker Cyriel Dessers is a serious doubt for the game against Brugge on Tuesday after his knee injury against Plzen.
