RUSSELL MARTIN had already snapped up eight players from English clubs this summer.
Now the Rangers manager has added a ninth to his ranks, with the arrival of another forward to improve his frontline.
Rangers have announced the signing of Youssef Chermiti on a big-money deal from Everton.
The 21-year-old has joined the Ibrox side on a four-year deal.
He told the club’s official website: “I am really happy to be here, when I spoke with Kevin and Russell, I knew straight away that I wanted to join the club.
“I can’t wait to meet everyone, the coaches, my teammates and all of the staff.

“I just want to meet everyone and get involved. I have heard about the atmosphere here and the stadium and I can’t wait to play.”
Chermiti featured just four times in the Premier League last season after making 18 appearances during the 2023/24 campaign, his first season as an Everton player.
He hasn’t scored a single goal in the English top flight but Everton splashed the cash on to sign him from Sporting Lisbon back in 2023.
Rangers head coach Martin said: “We’re really pleased to bring Youssef to Rangers.
“He’s a young striker with huge potential and a lot of the qualities we were looking for in that position.
“At just 21, he already has valuable experience at a high level, and we believe this is the right environment for him to continue his development.
“We’re excited to work with him over the coming years and help him fulfil that potential here at Rangers.”
Rangers sporting director Kevin Thelwell was Everton’s director of football when they sanctioned a £12.5million deal for the frontman from the Portuguese outfit.
He said: “I am delighted to welcome Youssef to Rangers.
“I know his character well from our time at Everton, and I’ve always been impressed by his attitude, professionalism, and hunger to improve.
“We believe he can develop into a top striker here, and we’re confident that Rangers is the right place for him to take that next step.
“We’re all excited about what he can bring to the club over the coming years.”
Capped at under-21 level by Portugal, Chermiti scored three goals in 16 appearances for Sporting’s senior side before heading to England.
And now the towering 6ft 4in striker has headed north of the border for more game time at Rangers.
It was initially believed that Rangers were looking to sign the hitman on loan for the season.
But it is a permanent deal and SunSport understands the Light Blues have coughed up around £8m to land him.
The attacking department is an area Martin has been looking to strengthen in recent weeks following the chaos with Hamza Igamane.
Cyriel Dessers also looks set to leave before the window shuts to join Panathinaikos. He’s been the subject of interest all summer including AEK Athens.
Igamane has since left the club after completing his £10.4m move to Lille.
Rangers have, however, snapped up former Aberdeen hitman Bojan Miovski to bring him back to Scotland following a difficult spell at Girona.

He was given a baptism of fire at Ibrox after making his debut against Celtic on Sunday.
Miovski and Chermiti will both be welcomed additions to the Rangers frontline to provide further competition for Danilo, who hasn’t impressed so far this season.
