RANGERS put Killie to the sword but Bojan Miovski knows they have to stop knifing themselves in the Premiership.
The deadly manner in which the Light Blues dealt with their tail-spin hosts immediately sparked fresh belief they can yet reel in Celtic and Hearts above them with a game-in-hand also to play.
But two-goal frontman Miovski – taking his overall Gers tally to four – is only too well aware that a lack of consistency has betrayed them… drawing their previous two games against Dundee United and Falkirk.
Sub Mikey Moore also produced a stunning solo goal in Ayrshire – with another sublime finish chalked off by ref Kevin Clancy following a VAR invitation to monitor check – as he made a dazzling comeback from injury.
No wonder Miovski was beaming as he discussed ending a personal barren run in front of goal.
But he also emphatically delivered the message a standard set at Rugby Park must now be kept.

On catching the title frontrunners Hoops and Jam Tarts, the 26-year-old said: “If you win one game, you are for the title race. You lose one game, you are not.
“There’s still a lot of games, to be honest. And of course, we want to be there.
“But we need to be consistent to collect points.
“Keep clean sheets, score as much as we can, create chances.
“Of course, if we get chances, we’re going to score.
“It’s about consistency.”
Rangers’ midfield of Connor Barron – their top man on the night – Nico Raskin and Mohamed Diomande was excellent. Full of craft, creativity and conviction in winning the ball back.
Diomande was lucky to avoid a second half penalty for tugging back David Watson, surviving a check by VAR’s Gavin Duncan.
Keeper Jack Butland – several superb saves – was also fortunate to avoid a potential red card for clattering Bruce Anderson well outside his box.
Big moments did go Rangers’ way and livid Killie boss Stuart Kettlewell was dismissed by whistler Kevin Clancy following a bitter rant at main stand assistant ref David McGeachie which also saw him volley a bottle of water down the touchline.
Killie lacked a killer touch while the decision to adjudge Bruce Anderson offside in the first half was damning on the match officials – he was actually inside his OWN half as he raced through on goal from a through ball, although he also failed miserably to finish.
Overall, however, Rangers produced some impressive attacking play while centre-half Emmanuel Fernandez delivered his best display in a Gers shirt in an otherwise far from convincing stint.
Miovski’s warmed to boss Danny Rohl who was his usual animated self in the technical area as the massive travelling support chanted his name throughout.
Under the German, Rangers have yet to lose in the league – winning five and drawing twice, scoring 14 goals and only conceding four.
And Miovski said: “He’s a great coach. Great experience. He worked a lot in the past with great managers.
“So, of course, he’s trying to show us where we can improve.
“We don’t have too much time on the pitch because there’s a lot of games.
“But we spend a lot of time in the building, watching videos so we can improve – and I think we are getting better.
“I was working really hard behind closed doors.
“I always say when you work hard and give everything, the goals will come. I score two goals and I hope I will continue that way.”
Miovski also had words of praise for fellow scorer Moore and keeper Butland.
He said: “Mikey is a top player.
“There’s a reason he is in Tottenham – and he’s a great player.
“Of course, he’s helping us a lot.
“He showed up. He showed up in the past, so of course it’s nice to see him back in the team.
“Jack’s a great goalkeeper. He was on a big level, he’s still on the big level.
“He’s a great goalkeeper. I’m not surprised that he’s making those saves.
“But every position is important in football. It’s 11 players on the pitch.
“Everyone from the goalkeeper to the striker needs to be good too for a team to succeed.
“It’s not about the midfield or the strikers, it’s a team sport.”
The Gers support was joyous on Saturday night – but they were disgusted with the players just the week previous after a dismal 0-0 home draw against Falkirk.
And an understanding Miovski – confidence high going into Thursday night’s Europa League trip to Hungary to face Ferencvaros – added: “It’s a normal thing in every football club if you don’t have results, the fans are angry.
“We are focused on the pitch and try to improve. It’s normal.
“If you win you’re the best, when you lose you are not.”
