RANGERS have been trolled by an English Championship club after they were pipped in the race to sign one of their key transfer targets.
Russell Martin is eyeing up several players to join him at Ibrox after taking over as Rangers boss, with Max Aarons and Lyall Cameron already signed on for next season.
The new Light Blues gaffer is moving quickly in the transfer market to get players in the door ahead of the Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos.
But Martin, 39, has been forced to change his plans after losing out on one player he looked set to sign at one stage.
Earlier this month Rangers were closing in on the signing of Kwame Poku from Peterborough United along with Aarons on loan from Bournemouth.
Martin might have landed one of them but he missed out on the other as Poku has now been officially unveiled by QPR as their latest summer recruit.

And the Loftus Road club wasted no time before rubbing salt into the wounds of Gers fans who wanted to see him at Ibrox next season.
QPR trolled Gers in a post on social media, which read: “Kwame Poku signs for THE Rangers”, followed by a winking face emoji.
It comes less than three years after Michael Beale sparked outrage at Loftus Road when he quit the club to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst in the Rangers dugout.
Now it’s QPR who’ve had the last laugh after beating the Ibrox club to Poku’s signature.
Speaking after completing his move, Poku said: “I feel like the project they’re building here excites me and I want to be part of taking QPR to that next level.
“There’s good players here and I think it’s exciting times for the club.”
On working with new QPR manager Julien Stéphan, he said: “When I was speaking to him he was talking about where he sees me fitting in and where he thinks I can influence the game.
“That’s what really attracted me. Being 23 turning 24, I’m not quite young anymore so I want to come in and make my mark from the jump.”
