TONY DOCHERTY is the new Ross County manager.
Last season’s relegated Premiership club is set to announce the former Dundee manager as Don Cowie’s successor later today.
Docherty, who served as assistant manager to now-Hearts boss Derek McInnes at St Johnstone, Bristol City, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock, is the man who shone in interviews among what County CEO Steven Ferguson called an “exceptional” list of applicants.
Ferguson said: “We are thrilled to welcome Tony Docherty to Ross County.
“He brings with him not only a wealth of experience and proven leadership but also a clear alignment with our club values and long-term vision.
“His commitment to embedding himself within our club and community gives us great confidence as we work together to secure our place back in the Scottish Premiership.

“We were hugely encouraged by the quality of applications we received during the process, and we would like to thank all those who expressed interest in leading our club.
“Today, however, marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter under Tony Docherty”.
County thanked caretaker boss John Robertson, who they said “stepped into the role on a temporary basis with professionalism and commitment” after coming in in June to assist under-pressure Cowie.
Docherty is expected to speak to the media today after meeting the players yesterday.
Dundee sacked Docherty in May, despite him edging out County in the fight to avoid a relegation play-off place.
In 90 games in charge, he won 31, drew 20 and lost 39.
