RUSSELL MARTIN has confirmed that Cyriel Dessers has all but certainly played his last game for Rangers.
The Gers striker came on as a sub in the 72nd minute of the Old Firm derby clash against Celtic, which finished 0-0.
And at the end of the game he could be seen waving to the fans, something many took as a clear gesture that he was on his way out of Ibrox for good.
Dessers, 30, was the subject of interest from AEK Athens at the start of the window but with the uncertainty surrounding Hamza Igamane, Gers were wary of accepting a bid until they had replacements in.
Igamane is now a Lille player but Bojan Miovski arrived from Girona over the weekend – and went straight into the starting XI – and Youssef Chermiti from Everton is believed to be lined up for a deadline day deal.
Panathinaikos have also been credited with serious interest in Dessers.

In his post-match interview with Sky Sports after the full-time whistle at Ibrox, Martin said: “I think Cyriel has played his last game for the club.
“He’s been great, been great the whole time.
“He goes with everyone’s best wishes.”
Martin also said to expect two new signings on deadline day, believed to be Chermiti and Marseille defender Derek Cornelius.
He said: “I think we are close to a couple.
“I only spoke to Kevin (Thelwell) this morning and I haven’t had a chance to catch up with him since.
“But we are really hopeful of concluding them.”
Martin was much less committal on whether Nico Raskin will be part of his plans going forward.
Reports from behind the scenes suggest there has been a fall out between the pair, with senior stars BACKING Martin in the feud.
