SCOTS golf star Bob MacIntyre has been reflecting on his sensational Ryder Cup and Alfred Dunhill Links success at a stunning popular beauty spot.
By his own admission, it’s been a ‘mad few weeks’.
MacIntyre helped Team Europe to a remarkable 15-13 victory over the US at Bethpage Black last month with an important half point in the singles on the final day.
Fresh from his New York triumph he returned to his homeland to play in the Dunhill Links and shot a final round 66 to clinch his fourth DP Tour event.
But it was his second 66 of the tournament at Kingsbarns which he felt was key to victory as he defied the heavy rain and strong winds to post what he described as an “unbelievable” score which even shocked him.
And after a few weeks celebrating MacIntyre took to the stunning Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye to look back on his spectacular successes.

He posted on Facebook: “Good few days in Skye recently and some time to reflect on a mad few weeks.
“Ryder Cup from start to finish was a dream. Playing my second Ryder Cup I was more relaxed going into the week and had a good little camp before it with my team which was a great help.
“Once the week got going it was carnage but that’s what we expected so we were ready for that. We played great golf and it was fun playing alongside my Viktor.”
Europe held a commanding 11.5-4.5 lead going into the final round of singles play and they withstood a tremendous US fightback to clinch a historic away win and first since the Miracle at Medinah in 2012.
MacIntyre added: “Sunday didn’t go to plan but the job was to win the Ryder Cup which we achieved and boy did we celebrate.
“Thanks to Luke Donald, vice captains and all the support staff for a special week.”
MacIntyre conceded his preparation for the Dunhill championship was not ideal so close after the Ryder Cup success and arriving late back into the country.
He added: “The Dunhill was a different kind of week with not getting back to Scotland until the Tuesday and not going to St Andrews until Wednesday afternoon.
“Had zero expectations but with the Kingsbarns weather on Friday my golf and attitude were as good as I’ve got in the conditions which kept me in the tournament.
“Saturday everyone was blown away so correct decision not to play…just wish it was called earlier so I could have had a few more donuts.
“Sunday at St Andrews is always a treat but to play the way I played alongside Tyrrell who also played magic was special.
“Thankfully in the end it was me holding the trophy this time.
“To win in Scotland again in front of my family and friends was special but to win at St Andrews and the Old Course is what dreams are made of.
“Thanks to all the people who helped me achieve these two dreams and the fans for the support. We keep going.”
