VIKTOR HOVLAND reckons deep-diving into UFO conspiracy theories will help him sink more putts and find more fairways this week at Bethpage Black.
The Team Europe star has explained that his love for the unidentified flying objects stops him from obsessing over his swing and keeps his mind clear on the course.

Teammate Ludvig Aberg told the media that Hovland’s unusual interest is often a topic of conversation in the European locker room.
But Hovland, 28, is hoping that it will be a welcome distraction to give him the upper hand as the Europeans try to spring an away upset on Team USA in Farmingdale.
Speaking to the media ahead of Friday’s opening sessions, he said: “It’s just something that I’ve been into the last couple years.
“I think I’ve always been extremely into my golf, and sometimes you just look at your golf swing and trying to practice hard and you don’t really get the results that you want, it can be quite frustrating.
“And I think it’s been one of those things that I’ve kind of taken my mind off of golf a little bit.
“And then the more you go into it, you just get more questions.
“It’s one of those things that you don’t really find any more answers but it’s very interesting to go in there and kind of challenge some of your beliefs that you currently hold, and you kind of have to expand your mind a little bit.
“I think it’s super fascinating because it touches on so many different topics, as well. I find it really interesting.”

The Ryder Cup is BACK as Team Europe defend their crown on American soil this weekend
Luke Donald‘s team are in New York ahead of the big start on Friday, having dominated the prestigious competition in the 21st century – winning eight of the 11 meetings since 2002.
But only two of those wins have come in the United States, with Team USA winning both the 2021 and 2016 competitions.
In fact, Team Europe has only won one of the four Ryder Cups held in the US – 2012 – since their win there in 2004 and Team USA enter this year’s competition as the odds-on bookies’ favourites.

It’s clearly working for Hovland too, after he revealed that he had his best driving range session in years on Wednesday – filling him with confidence ahead of a huge week.
He said: “That was obviously really sweet. Timely that it came on Wednesday.
“Obviously this is a golf course that you have to drive it really well and I’ve been kind of struggling with the driver, but it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to stand on the range and just kind of beat balls fluidly, effortlessly, without trying to feel like I’m steering it.
“When I went to film it, as well, it looked a little bit different.
“It looked definitely better than other swings that I’ve made lately. So really pleased with that.”
