By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Sagitun GIRLZ dealt the Cayo Dreamers FC a devastating 11-0 blow in the first leg of the Premier Women’s League of Belize (PWLB) semifinals at the Santa Elena Sports Complex on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

Captain Sabrina Eiley spearheaded the rout, netting a commanding four goals at the 5th, 24th, 52nd, and 88th minutes. Jolene Aranda put on a scoring clinic of her own, striking five times at the 13th, 32nd, 64th, 67th, and 72nd minutes, while Kenya Perez added to the dominance with goals in the 28th and 56th minutes.
Cayo Dreamers entered the match as massive underdogs after suffering 7-0 and 10-1 defeats to Sagitun in the regular season, but Sunday’s performance showed just how wide the gap remains. Sagitun GIRLZ wasted no time asserting their authority, scoring early and maintaining relentless pressure throughout, leaving their opponents no chance to recover.
With such a commanding lead, Sagitun GIRLZ now have one foot firmly in the PWLB final as they prepare to host the second leg of the semifinal at home this coming Saturday, May 10, at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence. Cayo Dreamers will need nothing short of a miracle to reverse the deficit, while Sagitun GIRLZ will look to continue their ruthless display and secure their spot in the championship match.
