SCOTT McTOMINAY could end the season as Napoli’s player of the year, Italian football’s player of the year and a Scudetto winner.
But next season could be even better if a sensational reported transfer goes ahead.
The Scotland talisman was voted the Serie A Player of the Month for April and has had a stunning year in Italy since his move to Napoli from Manchester United last summer for £25.5million.
He’s bagged 12 goals across all competitions for Gli Azzuri and has been a key player in their quest for the Serie A title.
The 28-year-old is adored by the Naples faithful, with a favourable nickname bestowed on him, fans getting tattoos of him and a shrine dedicated to him on a city wall.
Regardless of whether Napoli win the league this year or not, one player who could join McTominay and fellow Scot Billy Gilmour in the midfield there next season is none other than Kevin De Bruyne.

The Manchester City legend is leaving the Etihad at the end of this season and it’s believed he has lucrative offers from MLS and Saudi Arabia on the table.
But according to Sky Sport in his homeland of Belgium, Napoli have offered the 33-year-old a more enticing deal.
It’s reported that the Italian side are prepared to sanction a two-year deal for the impending free agent, with the option of a third.
De Bruyne is understood to have made Napoli his preference but is awaiting the full details regarding the salary they would give him.
The move would see De Bruyne link up with ex-Chelsea boss Antonio Conte but his old Stamford Bridge pal Romelu Lukaku.
De Bruyne and Lukaku also have the same agent and it’s been rumoured that De Bruyne’s wife, Michele, has been spotted house-hunting in Naples.
Lewis Ferguson has also been touted for a move to Napoli, with the former Aberdeen and Hamilton man continuing his super form for Bologna.
But there’s also been interest in him from Juventus and AC Milan.
