THERE might not be quite as much at stake as there will be in this week’s high octane Scotland World Cup qualifying matches.
The pace of play at times will certainly be more sedate – and perhaps a few waistlines slightly larger.


But the excitement and bragging rights on offer will be real enough as veteran players of Celtic, Rangers and Dundee Utd bid to dethrone Aberdeen as Scotland’s reigning Masters champions.
There’s never a shortage of good knockabout fun at this veteran 6-a-side event involving players old enough to know better.
Last year, it was former Gers star Bruno Alves and Aberdeen hero Eoin Jess, 54 years young, who needed to be separated when tensions were raised.

When and where is the Scottish Masters 2025?
- This year’s Scottish Masters event takes place this Friday, November 14
- For the second year running, it takes place at Aberdeen’s P&J Live arena
- Doors open at 18:00, with the show running from 19:30 to 22:00 *times subject to change
- A limited number of remaining tickets are available HERE – Under-14s must be accompanied by an adult
Is the Scottish Masters 2025 on TV and can I live stream it?
- Yes, the Scottish Masters 2025 will be aired on the BBC Scotland channel
- The show gets under way just as the action starts at 19:30, and runs until 22:15
Which teams are playing and what are the rules?
- Aberdeen, Celtic, Dundee Utd and Rangers will compete at this year’s event
- There’s a squad of eight for each game – with six players on the pitch at one time
- The event will feature a round robin format, with each match lasting 16 minutes across two halves.
- The two squads with the highest points will then face off and play a grand final match.
