SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY have been placed into administration.
The Championship side have been struggling with increasing financial issues.

The Owls currently owe £1million to HMRC in unpaid taxes.
They were served with a winding-up petition over the debts last week.
A staff meeting took place this morning with an administrator set to be appointed.
The EFL had previously charged the club with multiple breaches of regulations after they failed to pay players’ wages on time.

The Daily Mail have claimed that Begbies Traynor will have the duty of taking over the administration.
It is the latest disaster off the pitch for the Yorkshire outfit, which is still owned by Dejphon Chansiri.
The Thai businessman failed to pay players and staff members in five of the previous seven months.
Fans have been boycotting his ownership and refusing to travel to Hillsborough Stadium for games.

This was evident as the home crowd was outnumbered by the travelling Middlesbrough supporters on Wednesday evening.
On the pitch, the club is also struggling as they sit at rock bottom of the Championship.
Relegation could practically be confirmed as the club would receive an automatic 12-point deduction for entering administration.
This would leave the club on -6 points, 15 points off safety.
As it stands, there is no chance of any reinforcements coming in the January window with Wednesday under a transfer embargo.
It has previously been reported that Chansiri was close to selling the turbulent club.
Former Crystal Palace shareholder John Textor had confirmed that talks over a purchase had taken place.
