Richie’s Shooterz advanced to the finals of the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Business Basketball League Playoffs with a confident 80-63 victory over defending champions Sandals in a decisive game three of their semifinals contest at the JSC basketball complex on Tuesday night.
After losing the opening game 62-53, Shooterz rebounded to take game two 66-52 before dominating Tuesday’s decider. Devorn Benjamin led the charge with 18 points while Cohen DeSouza sank 17 points and Jaleyle Joseph hit 12 points all in the winning effort.
In a losing effort, T-Shawn Lewis picked up 18 points for Sandals while Keroi Lee and Selassie Brathwaite hit 17 and 15 points respectively.
Game one in the best of three finals will be contested tomorrow at the JSC Basketball Complex starting at 7:30 pm.
Newly crowned league champions, Board of Education, earlier this week, booked their spot in the finals when they swept former champions, the Antigua and Barbuda Transport Board with a 74-49 win in game two at the same venue.
