Wins for Sandy Point Snappers and Brown Hill Dolphins on Thursday night, propelled them into the semifinals round of the St Kitts and Nevis Cool & Smooth T20 Tournament where they will meet St Pauls Barracudas and Molineaux Blue Runners respectively on Saturday night.
Playing at Warner Park, Sandy Point Snappers edged past Government Road Sharks by four runs in a high-octane contest.
Snappers were led by a blistering innings from opener Jamie Cornelius who blasted 85 from just 51 balls, striking nine boundaries and clearing the ropes five times. He was supported by skipper Theron Bussue’s lively 31 off 19, which added valuable late-innings impetus as the Snappers posted 178 for nine from their 20 overs.
Jonathan Van Lange led the bowling attack for Sharks with three for 42, while Kimani Nisbett (2 for 23) and Hakeem Harvey (2 for 22) provided excellent support, finishing with extremely economical four-over spells.

The Sharks’ chase was anchored by Joshua Grant with 57 off 43 deliveries and Stephan Pascal with 46 off 40, whose solid opening partnership kept them in the hunt. However, Sandy Point’s bowling proved decisive, with Kian Pemberton (1 for 21) and Lyte Browne (1 for 14), delivering under pressure to seal a memorable win, as the Sharks finished on 174 for 6 from their 20 overs.
In the feature match-up, Brown Hill Dolphins chased a target of 126 with seven wickets in hand and nearly three overs to spare, but not before Cameron Pennyfeather treated spectators to an outstanding captain’s knock.
Batting first, St Pauls Barracudas reached 126 for eight built, in large part, on Pennyfeather’s brilliant 74 off 52 balls. He struck six fours and two sixes.

The Dolphins bowled with control and discipline. Micah McKenzie (1 for 17) and Jaden Carmichael (1 for 18) led the effort, while Israel Morton doubled the tournament’s maiden over count during his four-over spell, finishing with figures of 1 for 23, including two maidens.
In reply, opening batter, Barbadian Zachary Carter, anchored the chase with a fluent 45 from 37 deliveries. He was supported by Daren Benta’s dynamic 35 not out off 22 balls and a calm finish from Colin Archibald with 21 not out off 15. Kaivalya Mishra gave the Barracudas moments of hope with an impressive spell of 3 for 22, but the Dolphins’ composed approach saw them home with 17 balls to spare, finishing on 127 for three.
The semifinals will see Brown Hill Dolphins take on Molineaux Blue Runners at 3p.m., followed by Sandy Point Snappers facing St Pauls Barracudas at 7p.m. The winners will progress to the final, while the losing sides will contest the third-place play-off.
