LIVINGSTON have bolstered their squad with the intriguing signing of a vastly experienced international striker.
The Lions have become the SIXTEENTH club of the frontman’s career.
Livingston sealed an instant return to the Scottish Premiership after coming through the play-offs last season.
A 5-3 aggregate win over Ross County saw David Martindale’s men bounce straight back from the Championship, condemning the Staggies to the second tier in the process.
Livi boss Martindale has been busy adding plenty of experience to his squad this summer as he looks to keep his team in the division.
Seasoned Scottish Premiership stars such as Graham Carey, Stevie May, Cammy Kerr and Mo Sylla have all signed for the club this summer.
Celtic star Adam Montgomery has also arrived on loan, with the squad already including the likes of Ryan McGowan, Andrew Shinnie and Scott Pittman.
Now, Livi have added the intriguing signing of a 36-year old international striker.
Jeremy Bokila has sealed a deal to join Livi from Dutch top flight club Willem II.
Bokila struck 11 goals to help fire the club to promotion in the 2023/24 season and featured 23 times in the Eredivisie last season, netting twice.
Livi become Bokila’s 16th club with the forward’s 18-year professional career taking him all over the globe.
He broke into first team football with Dutch club AGOVV in 2005 and has gone on to play in Belgium, Romania, Russia, China, Turkey, Qatar and the United States.
He won the league title in Romania with CFR Cluj and has also won the second tier in the Netherlands plus national cups in Turkey and Romania.
Bokila also featured internationally for DR Congo between 2012 and 2017 and won 20 caps for his country, scoring six goals.
He was part of the squad that made it all the way to the semi finals of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015, where they lost out to eventual champions Ivory Coast.
Bokila scored in his country’s 4-2 quarter-final win over Congo, levelling things up at 2-2 after DR Congo had fallen two goals behind.
Standing at 6ft 2in tall, Bokila fits the bill for the type of imposing target man that Martindale enjoys to have leading his frontline.
Livi’s opening Premiership game on their return to the league sees them travel to Rugby Park to face Kilmarnock on Saturday afternoon.
It’s the only Saturday 3pm kick-off on the opening weekend of the top flight season.
