STEVEN GERRARD is poised to bring in a well-known face from former England boss Gareth Southgate’s coaching team if he lands the Rangers job, it’s being claimed.
Liverpool and England legend Gerrard, who has emerged as the leading candidate to replace Russell Martin in the top job in Govan, relied heavily on the likes of Michael Beale and Tom Culshaw for the coaching duties during his previous stint.

Gerrard, 45, has been locked in talks with the Ibrox hierarchy in London over the last 24 hours.
And with the prospect of a return for Beale in a supporting role rated unlikely, now the Daily Record are reporting that Gerrard could hand those responsibilities to former England no 2 Steve Holland.
Holland was a huge part of Southgate’s team who reached two European Championship finals in the space of eight years.
The 55-year-old previously worked at Chelsea and has been out of work since April this year when he was sacked by Japanese club Yokohama Marinos.

GER WARNED
‘Problems do not only lie with manager’ – ex-Gers boss warns Gerrard about Ibrox
Former No 2 Gary McAllister remained tight-lipped on the prospect of a second coming for Gerrard at Ibrox when contacted this week.
Gerrard said in midweek that he was busily assembling a team to put around him for when he goes back into management.
He told the Rio Ferdinand Meets podcaste: “I haven’t been ready because I haven’t got that [coaching] team set around me. And the timing hasn’t been right.
“But if the right call comes my way, the right club, the right challenge – and I’ve got my people set which I’ll have at some point – I will take that challenge on because it’s in me.
“I felt like I had that to a tee at Rangers [with Gary McAllister, Michael Beale and Tom Culshaw]. I’d love another go at some point.
“I want to change a few things and improve a few things then come back fresh with different people around me.
“I’d love another couple of challenges and that’s what I’m working on in the background at the moment.”
The same report also claims that there’s been NO contact as yet with former Rangers midfielder Steven Davis, who was a senior figure under the previous Gerrard regime.
