By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The defending champions, Survivors FC, were on track for victory but had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Old Road Defenders in a dramatic encounter at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City on Saturday, April 26, during the third week of the BDFA First Division Championship.

Survivors looked set to continue their dominance after Kennard Armstrong found the net twice, scoring in the 42nd and 52nd minutes to give his side a commanding 2-0 lead. Their grip on the match tightened even further when Old Road Defenders suffered a setback in the 33rd minute—Thomas Tillett was shown a red card, leaving them shorthanded for the remainder of the game.
However, despite the odds, Old Road Defenders refused to go down without a fight. In the second half, Jamal Tillet emerged as the hero for his team, netting twice in the 58th and 67th minutes to level the score.
Survivors FC were left frustrated as they failed to hold on to their lead, while Old Road Defenders walked away with a well-earned point. This result keeps things competitive as both teams look ahead to their next challenges in the BDFA First Division tournament.
The upcoming fixtures are scheduled for Labour Day, Thursday, May 1, when Survivors FC take on Hattieville United Youth Sporting Club, and Old Road Defenders clash with Kelly Street Bombers.
