TAYLOR MADE’s exercise gallops make her unstoppable in Saturday’s Rimsky Trophy at six furlongs, her first outing as a three-year-old, after trotting up against two-year-old maidens on debut at five furlongs round in December.
Sired by Aveenu Malcainu, whose first crop yielded last year’s Jamaica Oaks winner, LINGUUIST, as well as DANKA and ANOTHER ONE, TAYLOR MADE has speed on her dam side, foaled by the Hestherealthing mare, Another Fury, whose lineage stretches back three generations of speedy ‘Furies’ to the Steve Valenti-Red Ash mare, Hell’s Fury.
Showing the speed of Raging Fury’s sire, Al’s River Cat, TAYLOR MADE has been matching strides at exercise with stablemate INTRESTNTIMESAHEAD, the 2024 St Leger and two-time overnight-allowance winner.
Jason DaCosta watched TAYLOR MADE clock 1:07.4 and 1:07.3 for five and a half furlongs on consecutive Saturday mornings, the last alongside five-year-old INTRESTNTIMESAHEAD.
One of three fillies facing colts in the nine-horse field, TAYLOR MADE will be partnered by Jerome Innis after having female claiming rider Abigail Able as a passenger when floating home in 1:02.0 ahead of GIVING THANKS, who retired as a winner last Saturday on her three-year-old debut.
TAYLOR MADE’s average cruising speed of 12.4 seconds per furlong on debut should run the field off its legs, leaving a dogfight for the minors behind her.
