A field of 100 swimmers gathered at Seven Mile Beach on Saturday, 10 Jan. to compete in the 37th annual CUC 800m and 400m Sea Swim.
The event – an annual Cayman Islands Aquatic Sports Association showing – took place under calm conditions, drawing a diverse crowd of participants across multiple age groups.
The afternoon was dominated by the 15-19 age category, which produced the day’s top three finishing times.
Lennox Turnham-Wheatley led the pack, clocking the fastest overall time of 10:15.74 to secure the victory.
He was followed by Adam Sellars, who earned second place with a time of 10:33.49, while Justin Lortie rounded out the podium in 10:54.05.
With the event now concluded, the focus shifts toward the upcoming CIASA National Championships 5K Open Water Swim set for 31 Jan.
