TEMPLEGATE is here with his brand new weekly eyecatchers column – where he picks out the horses you may have missed.
From winners in waiting to possible plot jobs further down the line, our man goes through all the form to find the hidden clues.
And the headline from his first dispatch looks ahead to one making plenty of appeal in next weekend’s Breeders’ Cup.
FIRST LOOK: Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (Del Mar, Friday Oct 1)
HUMIDITY looks too big at 16-1 for this Stateside contest.
He improved for stepping up to a mile when a close second to the promising Bow Echo in the Royal Lodge at Newmarket last month.
Trainer Andrew Balding and owners Wathnan Racing have swerved Saturday’s Futurity with this race in mind and the quick ground will be ideal.

BABS (Stratford, Oct 6)
Sent off an unfancied 22-1 shot, she showed fantastic pace and staying power to win what looked a decent bumper in style.
She clocked a fast time and looks one to follow with another bumper win likely before going over hurdles where two miles will be ideal.
BLUE NAZARE (Yarmouth, Oct 6)
This son of Dubawi really caught the eye when winning from the front on debut for Charlie Appleby.
William Buick barely had to move as she picked up smartly and won in great style. She’ll be smart over middle-distances.
MILITARY CROSS (Kempton, Oct 15)
John Gosden’s son of Nathaniel has had three runs to qualify for a handicap mark and has been a strong second each time.
He stays 1m4f well and is learning with every race. He looks lively each-way for the November Handicap if he turns up there as three-year-olds can win Doncaster’s closer.
NO NAY DATA (Kempton, Oct 15)
Tom Clover’s two-year-old was a head bob away from winning on debut and looks a certain scorer. This was over 7f and a mile may be ideal.
TALIS EVOLVERE (Haydock, Oct 17)
He’s not won for almost a year but keeps running well and this was another good second to a very progressive rival in Eternal Force.
He was well clear of the third and Richard Hannon has him entered at Newbury on Friday where he can run well again.
