THIS year’s Derby declarations and draw – the first to be made 72 hours in advance – are in… and they have sparked a major market move.
Aidan O’Brien has declared three for the £1.5million Group 1 – the world’s most prestigious Flat race.
And, after weeks of guessing, Ryan Moore has finally opted to ride Delacroix.
Some 19 runners will go to post, with the only one withdrawn at the final stage being O’Brien’s Puppet Master.
Below are the confirmed runners and riders as well as the draw, where it was bad news for O’Brien.

The keen-going The Lion In Winter, who had been favourite for the race for months after his Acomb win but flopped in the Derby, is widest of all in 19.
No horse has won from there since 1967.
Delacroix fared a bit better in 14, while the best of his trio is Lambourn in ten.

Templegate’s reaction to the Derby draw
By Steve Mullen (Templegate)
You wouldn’t think the draw would be so important in a race over a mile and a half but it’s always been seen as a negative to come from a very low stall in the Derby. And a very wide berth is tricky too.
Starting stalls were first used in 1967 and since then no horse has ever won the Classic from the coffin box – stall 2.
Although they’ve had far fewer chances due to smaller fields, stalls 16 and 19 are also waiting for their first winner.
Stall 1 has made a bit of a comeback in recent years though with City Of Troy scoring from there last season to follow Adayar in 2021 who was breaking a 22-year duck for the inside berth.
The problem for the lowest stalls is the unusual start at Epsom where they turn right coming out of the stalls so the low draws are on the outside before a sharp left means runners from stalls 1 and 2 can get squeezed for room.
Ralph Beckett must be cursing the racing gods because his two runners have both drawn a coffin box.
The well fancied Dante winner Pride Of Arras comes out of winless stall 16 while his improving Stanhope Gardens has the dreaded box 2.
Rogue Impact is in stall 1 and Lazy Griff has copped 3 so their 100-1 and bigger prices look about right.
It’s a huge blow for The Lion In Winter to be right on the outside in stall 19.
It will take a mighty effort for him to be the first Derby winner from that berth.
The other big O’Brien hope Delacroix could have drawn better than 14 too although High-Rise, Authorized and Wings Of Eagles all scored from there so it’s not a total wipeout.
Nightwalker has copped a prime stall 5 draw for the Gosdens and his odds of 33-1 may shrink as a result.
Stall 10 is the most successful in Derby history overall and that’s gone to Aidan O’Brien’s Lambourn who looks more of a Leger horse.
The big winner looks like 2,000 Guineas winner Ruling Court who has what should be the ideal draw in stall 7.
He is vying for favouritism with Delacroix and the draw could just tip the scales in his favour especially with his rivals copping some dodgy stalls.

Betfred spokesperson Matt Hulmes said: “We anticipated some movement post draw with a big field of 19 going to post and we now have 3-1 joint-favourites for the Betfred Derby.
“We have eased Delacroix from 5-2 and clipped Triple Crown-chasing Ruling Court from 7-2 to make the pair 3-1 after drawing 14 and 7, respectively.
“The Lion In Winter in 19 could be problematic if he refuses to settle and has been eased to 11-2 subsequently.
“Dante winner Pride Of Arras remains 5-1 with stall 16 and the only other runner at a single figure price, as we go 12-1 bar the four.
“At bigger prices, Tennessee Stud is 33-1 from 50-1 after landing stall 12 with Tornado Alert on his inside in 11 clipped to 33-1 also from 40s.”
