VIRGIL VAN DIJK had a “beautiful” interview with a former opponent after Liverpool’s massive Champions League victory over Real Madrid.
Van Dijk, 34, helped the Reds beat Real 1-0 on Tuesday at Anfield following Alexis Mac Allister’s winner.

The centre-back then had an unexpected reunion with a rival from the past in former Premier League ace Michal Zyro.
Zyro, 33, faced the Netherlands international twice back in 2014 during a Champions League qualifier in the third round.
The ex-Poland international played for Legia Warsaw and Van Dijk donned the Celtic shirt.
Legia won both matches – 4-1 in Warsaw and 2-0 in Glasgow – with Zyro registering a goal and an assist in each game.

But Celtic went through because the Polish outfit fielded an unregistered player in the return leg in Scotland.
The former forward joined Wolves two years later when Van Dijk was playing for Southampton.
However, the Pole’s three-year stint at Molineux was plagued by injury and loan stints to the likes of Charlton and Pogon.
Zyro’s injury troubles forced him to prematurely roll credits on his career last year while playing for Wisla Krakow at the age of 32.

That led the ex-striker to a job as a pundit and that allowed him to reunite with Van Dijk to relive some memories.
The Dutchman proved to be very gracious as he remembered those matches and the atmosphere with Legia before wishing his interviewer all the best.
Zyro said: “I’m really happy to see you.”
Van Dijk responded: “So you scored two goals back then and now you interview me.”
Zyro explained: “Yeah, because I joined Wolverhampton for the next two to three years and I got really bad injury there by the knee.”
Van Dijk said: “Sorry to hear.”
‘As long as you are happy’
“Zyro replied: “But I really enjoy being here and it’s really special to speak with you.”
Van Dijk responded: “As long as you are happy that’s the most important thing. So keep doing what you’re doing.”
Fans were left moved by Van Dijk’s touching words and stormed social media to praise the Liverpool captain.
One fan tweeted: “That’s beautiful.”
Another commented: “Beautiful interview tbh.”
A third wrote: “Top stuff.”
