THOMAS TUCHEL is reportedly eyeing a surprise England call-up for Coventry City’s in-form goalkeeper Carl Rushworth.
The 24-year-old shot-stopper has made a sensational start to the Championship season while on loan from Brighton.
Rushworth recently went 613 minutes without conceding a goal, the longest unbeaten run in Coventry City’s history.
That stunning form has put him firmly on England’s radar, with talkSPORT reporting that national team scouts are keeping close tabs on him.
Tuchel, who took over as England boss in 2024, is said to be impressed by Rushworth’s consistency and composure.
The Coventry ace almost joined Rangers in the summer but the move was blocked by Brighton at the last minute.

The report on talkSPORT also claims the decision to stop him from going to Rangers was due to Seagulls owner Tony Bloom’s interest in Hearts, one of Rangers’ Scottish Premiership rivals.
That decision may have turned out to be a masterstroke for Rushworth.
While Rangers have struggled, Coventry are flying high under boss Frank Lampard, who has transformed the Sky Blues into genuine promotion contenders.
Rushworth has been central to their stunning form, producing a string of standout performances between the sticks.

His calm presence and sharp reflexes have reportedly caught the eye of Tuchel’s England staff, who are keen to expand the national team’s goalkeeping options.
If his form continues, he could become the first Coventry player in years to earn a senior England call-up.
It would also cap a remarkable rise for the Brighton loanee, who has quietly become one of the Championship’s standout performers.
And with England facing a goalkeeper shake-up ahead of next summer’s internationals, Rushworth’s dream debut could be closer than anyone expected.
