TOTO WOLFF is in talks to sell a portion of his 33 per cent Mercedes stake — valuing the team at a record £4.5 billion.
It surpasses the £3.5bn cost figure indicated for McLaren last month, following a change in their ownership structure.

Austrian Wolff, 53, is expected to remain as Mercedes’ CEO and team principal, per the Financial Times.
He has delivered seven world championships and eight constructors’ titles since joining in 2013.
Wolff, carmaker Mercedes-Benz and Manchester United chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s petrochemicals company Ineos each own a third of the team.
The new investor would be expected to take up a stake of around five per cent in the team.

The identity of that buyer, however, remains a mystery.
The £4.5bn valuation indicates a massive increase from January 2022, when Ineos paid £208m for its 33 per cent.
