Training partners locked in for Lightning
Sunshine Coast Lightning has confirmed its extended training squad, announcing four training partners for the 2026 Suncorp Super Netball season.
Up and coming defender, Jada Delaney returns in 2026, her height, vertical jump and game smarts recognised most recently by the Australian selectors – earning herself a defensive reserve spot in the Netball World Youth Cup.
Another returning athlete is speedy mid-courter, Baylee Boyd, who made her SSN debut as an injury replacement player in Round 1 of last season.
Maddie Hinchliffe, who has been part of the Club since 2021 – with a brief stint with the Collingwood Magpies in 2023 – also returns in 2026, her strength and leadership an asset to the Lightning training environment.
Dynamic shooter, Tippah Dwan will make the trip from Brisbane to complete Lightning’s 2026 training partner squad for 2026.
Dwan makes the move from the Queensland Firebirds where she played most recently, after securing a premiership title with the Adelaide Thunderbirds in 2024.
Lightning Head Coach, Belinda Reynolds said she was thrilled to lock in four talented athletes as Lightning’s 2026 training partners.
“It’s fantastic to have Jada, Baylee and Maddie back next season. They are all incredibly talented and bring a great energy to the team,” she said.
“I’m also pleased to welcome Tippah to the Sunshine Coast as our newest recruit.
“Tippah is a smart player and fast on the court, with impressive accuracy to post as well. I’m looking forward to seeing her thrive in our training environment.”
