IT’S the morning after the night before – with a dramatic Scottish summer transfer window now in the books.
Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen and the rest of Scottish football had until 11pm to get their transfer business done – and some were busier than others.
New Ibrox gaffer Russell Martin transformed his squad with a whopping THIRTEEN new players, even if mainstays such as Hamza Igamane and Cyriel Dessers moved in the opposite direction,
New owners Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises splashed the cash with a stunning £8m move for Youssef Chermiti, with centre back Derek Cornelius coming in on loan from Marseille.
There were grumbles on the other side of the city, though, where Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers and his recruitment staff spent all day chasing forwards after eventually sanctioning the £6m exit of Adam Idah to Swansea.
Shortly after the 11pm deadline they officially announced the signing of Hammarby winger Sebastian Tounekti, while the release of Kelechi Iheanacho by Sevilla is likely to hasten a move to the Hoops after Kasper Dolberg REJECTED an approach earlier in the day.
Elsewhere, this window saw both Hearts and Hibs break their transfer records. While Ryan Jack and Lyndon Dykes saw potential returns to Scotland fall through, Aberdeen snapped up Kevin Nisbet and Swedish international winger Jesper Karlsson while the window was well into extra time before Hibs could confirm a one-year loan deal for Middlesbrough midfielder Daniel Barlaser.
