The Barbados senior national men’s football team has departed the island enroute to Bonaire for two CONCACAF Friendly Series matches.
The Series will feature 16 matches among 16 member associations from March 26 to 30, staged across three venues.
Groups A and B will be played in the Dominican Republic, Group C in Bonaire, and Group D in the Cayman Islands.
Barbados, who will be in action for the first time in 2026, has been drawn in Group C, along with the host country, Saint Martin, and St Vincent & the Grenadines.
The Tridents will face Saint Martin on March 26 and St Vincent and the Grenadines on March 29.
During international action last year, Barbados defeated Bonaire 3-2 on November 12, before being blanked 3-0 by Aruba on November 15.
In World Cup qualifying on June 10 meanwhile, St Lucia defeated Barbados 2-1, while the local team played to a 1-1 draw against Aruba.
Additionally, two international friendlies against Dominica last May ended in goalless draws.
Barbados’ first opponents, Saint Martin split its matches last November, opening with a 2-1 win over Dominica, before being defeated 1-0 by Belize.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines were blanked 2-0 by the Dominican Republic, but then defeated Saint Lucia 3-1.
The remaining three groups for the upcoming games are as follows:
Group A: Martinique, El Salvador, Cuba, Dominican Republic.
Group B: Guyana, Belize, Dominica, Sint Maarten.
Group D: Cayman Islands, Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla.
In the latest FIFA/Coca Cola Men’s international rankings meanwhile , Barbados has slipped down one position to number 163 in the world.
Spain is the top ranked team, followed by Argentina and France, with England ranked at number four and Brazil fifth in the world.
USA at number 15 and Mexico 16, are the top two ranked CONCACAF nations in the rankings, with Jamaica at number 70, being the English speaking Caribbean’s top team.
Trinidad and Tobago is up next at number 99 in the world.
