By Rubén Morales Iglesias: After a weekend of postponed matches due to referee shortages, the BDFA 1st Division Football Championship resumed on Thursday, May 8, with Tut Bay whipping Hattieville United 6-0 at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City.


Tut Bay wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Tom Moguel opening the scoring in the 9th minute. Kevaughn Tablada doubled the lead in the 40th minute, setting the tone for a relentless attacking display.
The second half saw Tut Bay continue their offensive onslaught, as Calvin Thurton found the back of the net in the 44th minute, followed by Shemar Thomas in the 55th minute. Eesmond Sanker sealed the victory with two late goals in the 74th and 88th minutes, ensuring an emphatic result for Yabra team.
In the other match of the evening, Kelly Street Bombers shocked champions Survivors FC 2-0.
Meanwhile, the postponed fixture between Caesar Ridge FC and Reggae Boyz FC has been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 14, as the BDFA works to get the championship back on track.
With Tut Bay’s dominant performance, the race for the BDFA 1st Division title is heating up, and fans can expect more thrilling encounters in the coming weeks.
