By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Tut Bay FC continued their strong showing in the Belize District Football Association (BDFA) First Division Championship with an impressive 3-1 victory over the Kelly Street Bombers in the third week of competition at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City on Saturday, April 26.
From the opening whistle, Tut Bay FC wasted no time asserting their dominance. Raymond Gentle found the back of the net in the very first minute, catching the Bombers off guard and setting the tone for the match. Their relentless offensive play saw them doubling their lead in the 25th minute when Devin Thurton expertly converted a penalty, further securing their advantage.
Kelly Street Bombers struggled to regain control but managed to pull one back in the 57th minute through a penalty converted by Steven Baizar. However, their hopes were short-lived, as Calvin Thurton sealed the victory for Tut Bay FC with a decisive goal in the 77th minute.
With this win, Tut Bay FC secured their second victory of the tournament, while Kelly Street Bombers suffered their second defeat with only one victory.
With the competition heating up, all eyes are now on the upcoming fixtures scheduled for Labour Day, Thursday, May 1, when Survivors FC take on Hattieville United Youth Sporting Club, and Old Road Defenders clash with Kelly Street Bombers.
