Four athletes from the St. Croix Track Club previously qualified in an earlier Track & Field event to attend the Finals of the Association of Youth/Junior Athletics League, which was held April 26.

The finals took place in Dorado, Puerto Rico.
The age groups of the athletes ranged from 6 through 13, competing in a variety of events such as sprints, throws, jumps, race walking, and distance runs. Over 500 athletes from throughout Puerto Rico competed in two preliminary events, where the top athletes were able to qualify for the finals. Our athletes who competed in these finals were Amir Thiam, Malachi Maclorrain, Khaiem Hansen and Jennyel Robles. Medals were awarded to the top five finishers in each event, celebrating their exceptional performances. Among 32 boys’ teams, the St. Croix Track Team ranked 11th overall. Their final individual rankings in the AAJI league are listed below:
Amir Thiam – 1st in 200m, — 5th in 50m in Boys 10-11 age group
Khaiem Hansen – 4th in 1000m — 3rd in 200m in Boys 10-11 age group
Malachi Maclorrain – 7th in 300m– Boys 10-11 age group
Jennyel Robles – 2nd in High Jump – 16th in 1200m — Boys 12-13 age group
