HULL CITY boosted their hopes of reaching the play-offs whilst damaging Stoke City’s bid for automatic promotion in the Championship today.
But the end of the game was marred by a massive brawl on the pitch after full-time – and it was started by a former Rangers player.
Stoke had taken the lead in the first half at the bet365 Stadium through Sorba Thomas, but Semi Ajayi equalised in the second period for Hull.
And in the 90th minute, the Tigers snatched the win with Joe Gelhardt‘s goal.
Stoke had started the day in second place, so that late winner frayed tempers in the stadium, which boiled over after full-time.
Ex-Rangers midfielder John Lundstram had come off the bench late on for Hull, and he celebrated the victory in front of the home fans.

Potters defender Ashley Phillips was enraged and squared up to Lundstram, giving him a hard shove.
But Lundstram’s teammates Gelhardt and Kyle Joseph were quickly on the scene, pulling Phillips away from the former Gers ace and starting to argue with him.
A host of players from both teams quickly joined in, and before long there was a full brawl in the corner of the pitch.
The nearby Stoke fans became involved, lobbing objects onto the pitch as the situation escalated.
After technical staff and subs from both teams became involved, the incident eventually calmed down.
Joseph, Lundstram and Phillips were all booked by the referee after the full-time whistle.
But Lundstram’s old Sheffield United teammate and Scotland international Oli McBurnie saw the funny side, taking to X, formerly Twitter, to react to his pal’s part in the piece.
He wrote: “Some boy.”
