IT’S rarely ever easy being a Scotland fan.
And two former international players found that out for themselves last night as the current crop of stars put them through the wringer!
Scotland fell to a dramatic 3-2 defeat in Greece last night, having found themselves 3-0 down after just over an hour’s play in Athens.
Incredibly, however, our World Cup dream is STILL alive despite that result.
The narrative heading into the game was that defeat would spell the end of our automatic qualification hopes.
That was hand-in-hand with the widely accepted assumption that group leaders Denmark would comfortable deal with Belarus in the other Group C match.

However, Steve Clarke‘s men were dramatically bailed out as the Danes were held to a shock 2-2 draw, with Belarus securing their FIRST point in the qualifying process.
It now means a winner takes all showdown at Hampden on Tuesday night where the victor of Scotland‘s clash with Denmark will punch their ticket to the World Cup finals in North America next year.
While a night of drama was to be expected, the way in which it all transpired certainly wasn’t.
Scotland fought back after going three goals down with Ben Gannon-Doak and Ryan Christie bringing the deficit to within a goal.
And the chances were most certainly there to level things up.
Scott McTominay looked CERTAIN to score and make it 3-3 late doors, only to be denied by an almost unthinkable stop from Odysseas Vlachomidos in the Greece goal.
Christie had also fired wide with the goal at his mercy with a chance that also would have made it 3-3.
Striker Che Adams was also guilty of passing up some great opportunities, including one that would and should have made it 1-1 early in the second half.
Former Scotland stars Neil McCann and Leanne Crichton were on punditry duty for the BBC.
And the broadcaster has shared a video showing the duo going through an absolute rollercoaster of emotions as Scotland passed up chance after chance to take something from the game.
McCann be seen CELEBRATING McTominay’s late effort – before quickly realising that the ball somehow hadn’t gone into the back of the net.
Crichton, too, can be seen with her arms outstretched before Adams somehow fails to score with the goal gaping.
The common denominator is that both former footie stars are repeatedly left with their heads in their hands in utter disbelief at what they were seeing.
