DIOGO DALOT said he hoped Manchester United could finally help give a haircut to a fan who vowed to keep growing his afro until the team won five games in a row.
United won back-to-back games under boss Ruben Amorim for the first time after a famous 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
Harry Maguire‘s dramatic winner secured their first away win at Liverpool since 2016 and now fans are hopeful the club can go on a winning streak.
United next face Brighton next weekend before trips to Nottingham Forest and Tottenham.
And the Red Devils would have to win all three games to ensure supporter Frank Ilett gets a trim.
Ilett started growing out his hair last October to lift fans’ spirits after a turbulent start to the season that saw Erik ten Hag sacked before Amorim replaced him.

As Amorim struggled to steady the ship in his first season, Ilett’s hair kept growing and there was little hope of cutting it after a rocky start to this campaign too.
But with United now growing in confidence after beating Liverpool, following a 2-0 win over Sunderland last week, defender Dalot believes the team can put the streak together.
After being asked about the fan’s challenge after the game, Dalot told DAZN: “Let’ see… We hope that we can give him that haircut.
“But we have to go game by game. Obviously, we know this is a very difficult league, we have tough games.

“And, of course, we have to go after that consistency that we have lacked because we have already shown in the past that we can compete against any team in the world.
“We get to the big games, we get to have good performances. Now it’s trying to make it happen every game.
“We now have the next game at home and that’s what’s important to us.”
After the game, Ilett reposted an Instagram story from darts star Luke Littler, who had posted a hilarious video referencing his hair-growing challenge.
The video showed Lionel Messi staring at the World Cup trophy with a caption that read: “That United fan who’s not getting a trim eyeing up his hair clippers right now.”
Ilett responsed to Littler’s video with two emojis, one that said “soon” and another that showed a barber’s pole.
He also showed Manchester United’s response to one of his posts showing how long his hair was after 379 days. It read: “We have an encouraging update.”
Maguire’s winner came after Cody Gakpo had cancelled out Bryan Mbeumo‘s early opener at Anfield.
Amorim dedicated the victory – by far the most important of his tenure – to the fans after watching some difficult moments during his tenure so far.
He said: “To see our fans singing during the game, in a moment that the biggest rival are champions, on their field and at their stadium, this win is all about our fans and the spirit of the team because I believe we can play so much better.

“We will analyse the game in the same way we analyse the other ones, try to see the good things and bad things.
