Coach of the All Saints United FC and former national player Schyan Jeffers is hoping to guide his team to a third successive Premier Division title and join the small list of teams to have won a hattrick of championships at the top level.
Jeffers, who guided the All Saints team to back-to-back titles with wins in the 2023/24 and the 2024/25 seasons, said completing the hattrick will place All Saints United among the elites like the Empire Football Club and the English Harbour Football Club.
“Everybody wants to dethrone the champions, so I know definitely that it is not going to be an easy season. They don’t want All Saints United to three-peat and I am vying for the three-peat, so I know that this season is going to be a rollercoaster season and I just have to take one game at a time and make sure my tactics work in every game. I have to make sure my players are being receptive, make sure they are prepared properly and I just have to make sure that everything works in order for me to regain the championship,” he said.
Empire recorded a double three-peat between 1969 and 1975 by winning six straight titles before winning four straight between the 1997/98 to the 2000/01 seasons. English Harbour achieved their feat between the 1994/95 and 1996/97 seasons.
Jeffers acknowledged that it will, by no means, be a walk in the park as there are a number of talented teams gunning for the top spot.
“With the likes of Grenades, with the likes of Garden Stars, with the likes of Old Road, those are really three top teams that invest in their football and I know for sure that they will want to win the championship as well and they are going to come for All Saints United. They are going to be very energized so those are the main three teams that are going to be my hurdle and I know that I have to take my time with these teams because they are very good teams,” he said.
The 2025/26 domestic football season is slated to kick off in October.
