ONE-IN-EIGHT Scottish footy fans drive a car which matches the colour of their favourite team.
A poll by Renault of 2,000 fans found 12 per cent admitted their motor was the same colour as their team’s home shirt.


In England, Man United and Man City fans were most likely to choose a car – red or blue – based on their team, with 20% per cent admitting it.
In Scotland’s Premiership, however, Rangers fans came out top – with 19 per cent driving blue cars.
Hearts fans were rock bottom, with just 5 per cent pootling around in a maroon or purple car.

The Premiership of those who chose the colour of their car according to their footy side was found to be as follows:
1 – Rangers (blue)- 19 per cent
2 – Aberdeen – (red) – 17 per cent
3 – Hibs (green) – 16 per cent
4 – Celtic (green) – 15 per cent
5 – Dundee (blue) – 13 per cent
6 – St Mirren (black) – 12 per cent
7 – Kilmarnock (blue) – 11 per cent
8 – Falkirk (blue) – 10 per cent
9 – Motherwell (orange) – 9 per cent
10 – Livingston (amber/orange) – 8 per cent
11 – Dundee United (orange) – 6 per cent
12 – Hearts (maroon/purple) – 5 per cent

He said: “My entire family have been Rangers for as long as I can remember.
“My sister once bought a green mini, and my dad marched her right back to the showroom and told to exchange it for a blue one.”
Renault chiefs found that 69 per cent of those polled said that colour has a ‘positive impact’ on their moods – with green and yellow among the favourites.
In terms of Premier League fans who chose the colour of their car according to their footy sides, the results were as follows:
- 1 – Manchester United (red) – 20 per cent
- 2 – Manchester City (blue)- 20 per cent
- 3 – Liverpool – (red) – 15 per cent
- 4 – Everton – (blue) 15 per cent
- 5 – Nottingham Forest (red) – 15%
