Members of the Cayman Islands Football Association re-elected their longstanding president, Alfredo Whittaker, at its recent annual general meeting.
The meeting on 13 Sept. brought together representatives from member clubs to reflect on the organisation’s achievements over the past year and to select its leadership for the next term.
As well as choosing Whittaker to again serve as CIFA president, the members re-elected Dion Brandon as second vice president and Jennifer Powery as deputy general secretary.
In a CIFA press release, Whittaker expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am humbled by the confidence our members have placed in me and the executive team to continue leading Cayman football.
“We have made important strides in recent years, but there is still much work to be done. Together, with the support of our clubs, referees, coaches and players, we will continue to grow the game at every level and ensure that football in the Cayman Islands remains strong for generations to come.”
The meeting also served as a forum for members to talk about new initiatives and receive updates on CIFA’s current programmes, competitions and community outreach efforts.
