By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The William Dawson Peace Cup kicks off on Saturday, June 7, at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City, bringing together teams from across Belize City and surrounding villages in a competition aimed at engaging youth and fostering unity.


Originally established to provide the youth with positive opportunities, the tournament has grown into a celebrated annual event, drawing passionate players and dedicated supporters. This year’s edition features two groups—Group A and Group B—each packed with talent and determination. Among the teams, Tut Bay FC enters the tournament as the defending champions, aiming to secure back-to-back titles against strong competition.
Competing Teams:
– Group A: Caesar Ridge FC, Survivors FC, Sandhill Warriors, Grave Yard FC, Jane Usher FC, D.R. Starz FC
– Group B: Tut Bay FC, Ebony Lake FC, Hattieville/Rockville, Blvd Ballers, Leaders of Tomorrow FC, Rookies FC
Opening Matches (June 7, 2025)
Football fans can look forward to thrilling matchups at Marion Jones Sports Complex and the MCC Grounds, with the first games scheduled as follows:
– Caesar Ridge FC vs. D.R. Starz FC – 11:00 am (Group A)
– Tut Bay FC vs. Rookies FC – 12:30 pm (Group B)
– Survivors FC vs. Jane Usher FC – 2:00 pm (Group A)
The William Dawson Peace Cup is organized by the Leadership Intervention Unit with the sponsorship of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Leadership Intervention Unit, the Belize Police Department, Dolphin Productions, the National Sports Council of Belize, the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan), and the Department of Youth Services.
