BIRMINGHAM CITY are set to beat tomorrow’s transfer deadline to land Yang Hyun-Jun from Celtic.
The South Korean winger is closing in on a move down south with former Celtic coach Chris Davies keen to add him to his squad before the end of the window.
Birmingham have already signed ex-Celtic frontman Kyogo Furuhashi this summer and landed Tomoki Iwata among several other Scottish-based players last season.
And now he looks set to land another Hoops star to help him with his Championship push this year, with Yang reportedly one step closer to penning a deal.
Sky Sports claim Birmingham are waiting on the green light from Celtic to finalise a transfer for the wide-man.
Yang was an unused sub in Celtic’s 0-0 draw with Rangers at Ibrox and will travel to Birmingham if the Hoops agree to their latest offer.
And should Celtic accept it then they will bank a nice profit having spent £2million to sign him from Gangwon FC in 2023.
It’s stated Birmingham have almost sealed the deal after agreeing to pay Celtic an initial fee of around £3m following latest negotiations.
But the Scottish champions could be in line to bank even more for the sale as both clubs are still in talks over potential add-ons.
Yang could travel to Birmingham either tonight or early doors tomorrow for a medical should both sides finalise terms in the coming hours.
It’s set to be a very hectic deadline day at Parkhead tomorrow, with plenty of ins and outs expected.
Adam Idah is also closing in on a £6m exit to join Swansea and is currently undergoing the second part of his medical in Wales after heading down there on Friday.
And with Idah set to depart, Rodgers is exploring last-minute deals for a replacement too.
The No1 target is Kasper Dolberg and Celtic are hopeful of reaching an agreement with Anderlecht ahead of tomorrow’s deadline.
It’s believed two bids have been turfed by the Belgian club, but the Hoops are in the process of preparing a third offer.
The Dane is in Anderlecht’s squad for their league game against Union St Gilloise tonight.
It’s understood Anderlecht are looking for a fee of around £8.5m.
