Orange Walk FA 1st Division: Yo Creek United rally support ahead of semifinal amid controversy

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Yo Creek United are calling on their supporters to turn out in full force this Sunday, May 11, at Louisiana Football Field in Orange Walk, as they prepare for their decisive semifinal clash in the Orange Walk FA 1st Division Closing Championship against Mi Gente of Guinea Grass at 5:00 pm.
Despite securing a 4-2 victory in the first leg, Yo Creek United will be without three key players who have been handed 19-month suspensions following allegations of racial abuse. The club, however, maintains that the accusations are unfounded and has urged fans to stand behind them in what they describe as a “witchhunt.”
A call to action
In a passionate statement, Yo Creek United encouraged their supporters to flood the stadium in green and rally behind the defending champions.
“This Sunday, come out in the hundreds and cover the stadium in a sea of green! Show your support for the defending champions as we continue to fight an unfounded and unsubstantiated witchhunt!” Yo Creek United said.

Sunday’s semifinal will be a decisive battle
With three players absent, Yo Creek United face a tough challenge as they aim to defend their advantage and secure a place in the OWFA Amateur 1st Division Championship Final. Meanwhile, Mi Gente will look to capitalize on their opponents’ weakened squad and overturn the deficit.
Expect an intense battle, with emotions running high as both teams fight for a spot in the final.
Progresso and San Jose Pumas battle in the other semifinal
Before Yo Creek United and Mi Gente take the field, Progresso FC and San Jose Pumas will face off in the other semifinal at 3:00 pm. Their first leg ended in a 0-0 stalemate, leaving everything to play for in the return match.
