Young Lions and Guydadli won quite comfortably on Friday in the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association Second Division Football Competition with victory as well for Real Blizzard.
In the Second Division, Young Lions had the most emphatic result of the day, crushing Glanvilles 5-0 in a one-sided affair that saw them assert their dominance from start to finish. Demarques Douglas opened the scoring in the 26th before Stefan Smith found the back of the net twice, scoring in the 31st and 55th minutes. Deante Anthony struck late in the 68th minute, while La’Trell Lewis added another in the 81st minute to cap off their team’s clean sweep.
Guydadli FC played away to Fort Road and swept them in comprehensive fashion going on to win 4-0. Imani Joyce was the first to register a goal in the 27th minute not before Keyondre Hewlett’s first goal attempt was disallowed in the 18th. He finally got his only goal of the match in minute 38 before Joyce completed his brace in the 50th. The final goal of the game was scored by Nicholas Clarke in the 82nd.
Real Blizzard secured a narrow 2-1 victory over West Ham FC at home as Wendell Joseph struck gold by receiving two penalty kicks in which successfully beat the keeper on both occasions (24′, 38′). The visitors were the first to score in the 13th minute via Anderson Herbert.
In a closely contested encounter at Mack Pond, Liberta Blackhawks and JSC Progressors battled to a 2-2 draw. Lester Dupigny scored in the 37th minute to give the Blackhawks the lead but Tommo Forrest equalized in the 40th to end the first half at a one-all stalemate. However, Glenworth Martin provided the advantage for Progressors in the 53rd and seemingly looked like winning a goal but Azori Destin dashed that hope away when he levelled the match in the 90th minute.
