Largest boys’ volleyball tournament ever held kicked off today in Orlando as AAU Nationals got underway. 1429 teams are competing across 25 divisions from 12U to 18U. AAU Boys’ nationals have grown a lot over the last 4 years as in 2022 only 665 teams competed. In comparison, USAV Nationals happening from July 3rd to 6th are going to be attended by only 160 teams or so. This is due to many reasons but we expect that will hopefully change for the better with leadership of John Speraw, now the CEO of USA Volleyball. VolleyballMag will be covering nationals in depth over the next week and we look forward to bringing a lot of fun stories your way.
