Tucker Clarke Primary School has etched its name into history after capturing its first-ever RAM’s Interprimary School Championships title, capping off a dominant season with a stunning triple crown achievement.
The East Basseterre school surged past long-time rivals and defending champions, Dr William Connor Primary School of West Basseterre, in a fiercely contested meet that kept spectators on edge throughout the weekend.
The battle for supremacy was tight from start to finish, with both schools trading blows across multiple events. However, Tucker Clarke delivered a decisive push late on Sunday evening to separate themselves and secure the championship.
Final medal standings reflected their commanding performance, as Tucker Clarke finished with 15 gold, 10 silver, and 10 bronze medals, ahead of Dr. William Connor, who tallied 11 gold, 17 silver, and 8 bronze.
The victory carries added significance, as it marks the first time Tucker Clarke has claimed the prestigious title, dethroning the reigning champions in the process, and asserting East Basseterre’s dominance over their West Basseterre counterparts.
Even more impressive is what the triumph represents in the broader context of the 2026 track and field season. With this win, Tucker Clarke completed a clean sweep—having already captured the Basseterre Zonal Meet and the Champions of Champions title earlier this season.
By clinching the RAM’s Interprimary Championships—the island’s premier primary school athletics event—the school has effectively defeated all competitors across St. Kitts, sealing a remarkable triple crown in a field of 19 participating schools.
Celebrations spilled onto the streets of Basseterre on Tuesday morning, as the school hosted a vibrant motorcade to commemorate the achievement. Students, teachers, and supporters paraded through the capital with all three championship trophies proudly on display, as music, cheers, and school pride filled the atmosphere.
The festivities were further highlighted by a visit from Parliamentary Representative and Minister of Education, Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, who congratulated the team on its historic success and commended the athletes for their hard work and discipline.
The 2026 championships, held at the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium from March 28–29, will be remembered not only for its thrilling rivalry at the top, but also for the emergence of a new powerhouse in primary school athletics.
