Both teams, Flyers Basketball and Ovals Ojays, are just one win away from Playoffs titles in Division 1 and Division 2 respectively, in the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) competition following game-two triumphs at the JSC sports complex on Thursday night.
Contesting the feature game of a double-header, Flyers edged rivals Potters Steelers by just four points, taking game two of the best-of-five series by a 78-74 margin.

Xavier Meade led the scoring for the defending champions, sinking 22 points while also contributing on the defensive end with 10 rebounds. Kenya Achom and Adonis Humphreys both contributed with 14 points. Humphreys also had 14 rebounds while Achom grabbed eight of his own. David Hernandez had 10 points off the bench.
For Steelers, Cohen DeSouza led the scoring with 14 points while grabbing five rebounds. There were 13 points each from Kareem Edwards and Marlon ‘Buju’ Charles. Edwards also had 10 rebounds while Charles snatched six.
Flyers had claimed game one of the series by an 85-69 margin on Tuesday which means that a win for the defending champions on Sunday will see them returned as both the league and playoffs champions for a second straight season.
Meanwhile in Division two playoffs, Ovals Ojays also went two-nil up in their five-game series with a 63-50 win over Navigators in Thursdays opening clash.

Jayleyle Joseph did the brunt of the scoring for Ovals with 17 points while grabbing 11 rebounds. He was assisted by Tajahron Davis with 14 points and Aiden Christian who bagged nine points and pulled eight rebounds off the bench.
For Navigators, Ricky Willock led the scoring with 14 points off the bench. De-Lornge Jules and Baldwin Anthony Jr contributed to the effort with nine and eight points respectively. Anthony also had 10 rebounds.
Game three of the series will be contested on Sunday, starting at 6:45pm.
